For a second year in a row, DHL Resilience360 will open its doors for the Risk & Resilience Conference. Some 180 executives and practitioners in supply chain, business continuity, security and risk management from around the globe are expected to attend the event on September 22nd at DHL’s EMEA Innovation Center.
In light of the uncertain political climate in Europe and emerging fears around terrorism, this year’s theme of “Maintaining Network Agility in a Volatile Environment” will underpin the agenda with engaging speeches and interactive breakout sessions.
Our guest keynote speaker, Baroness Manningham-Buller of Northampton, former head of Britain’s Security Service (MI5) will share insights on leadership and how to manage risk and change under pressure.
Eliza, Baroness Manningham-Buller of Northampton headed the MI5 from 2002 to 2007, leading the organization through substantial change in the wake of 9/11 and the threat from Al-Qaeda. During her time at the helm MI5 doubled in size, opened eight new offices and altered its approach to the professional development of staff with the establishment of a training academy.
With the main focus of her work being on international and domestic counter-terrorism, she draws on her experience in the most demanding of environments to stress the need for leaders in any walk of life to engage in frank dialogue and invite criticism1.
Other highlights of the agenda include presentations from Andreas Papp, International Director of Emergency Response at SOS Children´s Villages International, Paul Kilmister, Global Head of Warehouse and Transportation from Satair/Airbus, and Jürgen Wiemann, Head of Property for Central Eastern Europe at Allianz.
“In most companies supply chain risk management requires a collaborative approach, and isolated efforts of a single function will not be successful in this endeavor. Therefore we are delighted to bring together executives and practitioners are from a range of different disciplines to discuss the challenges ahead. This is our second Risk & Resilience Conference and we are excited to see the engaged community that is forming around this topic.“
Tobias Larsson, Head of DHL Resilience360
During this one-day conference, the guests will also have the opportunity to get hands-on experiences in augmented reality, 3D printing, robotics and other fascinating trends shaping our future – all displayed and brought to life at the DHL Innovation Center.
